Wind Power Installation Vessel "Boqiang 3060" Built by CIMC Raffles Was Delivered

Publisher:CIMC

On 24 December, the "Boqiang 3060" wind power installation vessel, independently designed and constructed by CIMC Raffles, was named and delivered at the Yantai base terminal in Shandong. The "Boqiang 3060" wind power installation vessel is the "most advanced domestically" in terms of operating water depth, variable deck load and lifting capacity. It has become a "pillar of the nation" for exploring deep-sea wind energy resources and strengthening offshore wind power project construction capabilities, which will inject strong innovative power into China's energy structure transformation and marine economic development.

As the latest generation of integrated large-scale wind power installation vessel for deep-sea applications in China, the "Boqiang 3060" has a total length of 133 meters, a beam of 53 meters, a depth of 11 meters, and can operate in water depths exceeding 70 meters. It has a maximum speed of 8.4 knots and a total variable load capacity of 11,000 tons. With a deck working area of approximately 4,800 square meters, it can transport and install 4 sets of 12MW or 3 sets of 16MW offshore wind power turbine units. It is currently the only new generation wind power installation vessel in China capable of transporting complete tower barrel.

In addition, the vessel is equipped with a 2200-ton pile-driving offshore crane produced by Huisman, which can meet the installation requirements of 20MW wind turbines in the future. The pile legs have a length of 120 meters (extendable to 136 meters) and are equipped with 8-inch rack plates, which have better fatigue, wear and impact resistance.

Compared to similar domestic vessels, the "Boqiang 3060" wind power installation vessel is featured with a longer working window, higher installation efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and more economical operation, making it better to meet the development needs of China's offshore wind power industry. Its design standards comply with the operational requirements of Chinese waters, Southeast Asian waters, and European waters, and it is classified by the China Classification Society.

As one of China's important clean energy sources, the scale development of offshore wind power is vital to the achievement of the "3060" dual carbon goals. The "Boqiang 3060" wind power installation vessel is managed and operated by Boqiang Heavy Industry, financed by ABC Financial Leasing, and independently designed and constructed by CIMC Raffles. After successful delivery, it will give priority to providing offshore wind power installation services to Huadian Heavy Industries, promoting the stable and long-term development of China's offshore wind power industry.

In the future, CIMC Raffles will join hands with industry partners, bring together the power of green finance and manufacturing, persistently support the transformation and upgrading of China's shipbuilding and offshore engineering industry through "domestic shipbuilding", thus contributing to the high-quality development of offshore wind power and the achievement of the "3060" dual carbon goals.
